North Georgia Football Association
The North Georgia Football Association (NGFA) existed from the 1939 until the reorganization of GHSA members into regions in 1947.
The NGFA was formed on March 28, 1939, by 18 schools divided into two groups, those with an enrollment of greater then 200 male students and those with less. The South Georgia Football Association had formed a committee in 1937 to assist North Georgia schools in forming the conference for the purpose of playing a Class B state championship game between their respective conference champions.
