Note: Does NOT include preseason rankings presented by Journal prep editor Bill Whitley in a series that ran from Aug 15 to Aug 20. In 1967 the Atlanta Journal poll was determined by a vote of 10 sportswriters throughout the state. The preseason rankings were the work of Whitley and are not considered the official Journal rankings in spite of their labels in the articles. They are included here only for reference to prevent confusion.
