Game summary
The South had seven 1000-yard rushers on the roster, but the MVP award went to tight end Randy McMichael of Peach County. The UGA-bound receiver had four catches for 80 yards to lead the South to a come-from-behind 22-15 victory. The Rebs trailed 9-7 late in the third when LaGrange’s J.R. Revere connected with McMichael for 40 to set up Jasper Sanks’ 3-yard touchdown. Sanks added the two-point conversion for a 15-9 lead. Three minutes into the fourth, Putnam County’s Corrie Collier put the game away with a 35-yard interception return and a 22-9 lead.
