&lt;br /&gt;
He played college football at Georgia Tech, where he was named All-Southeastern Conference, Most Valuable Lineman in the Southeastern Conference, and a consensus All-American.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He also played professional football for the New York Giants and was a member of 1956 NFL championship team.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He was later inducted into the Georgia Tech Hall of Fame and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.&lt;br /&gt;
