Berrien High opened in 1954, combining Nashville, Ray City and Enigma high schools&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;The Daily Tifton Gazette, Sept. 9, 1954&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;. Alapaha had closed as a high school in 1952 after suffering tornado damage. Nashville High and Elementary, the county&amp;#039;s black high school, completed total integration in 1969.&lt;br /&gt;
